Space Exploration - Discovery Science Center
Santa Ana, California
JMD engineered and installed the audio/video/control systems for the Boeing Rocket Lab and NASA/JPL Mars Curiosity Rover exhibits. JMD also created original touch screen interactives for the entire Space Exploration exhibit.
At the Boeing Blast Zone, JMD simulated
a rocket blastoff inside of the
Discovery Science Center Cube.
Discovery Science Center has on display a full size model of the NASA/JPL Mars Rover "Curiosity". Curiosity was launched in November 2011 and is scheduled to land on Mars in 2012. JMD designed and installed a Virutal Hostess who appears and disappears in to clear glass as she describes features of Curiosity to museum guests.
JMD also created ten (10) touch screen interactives throughout the exhibit. One outdoor touch screen teaches guests about rocket fuel while indoor touch screens give guests a tour through the Curiosity Mission. Still others lead children through the creation of their own Lego space vehicles!
